Goddess Series I at Padang Padang, Bali

I have created a few yoga series inspired by the Goddess Pose. Here is the first one.

Following is the list of poses that made up this series. You will see that I didn’t include any specific alignment principles. If you are not familiar with any of the poses, I suggest to practice the new pose on its own first before following the sequence. Flow smoothly and slowly from one pose to another, and coordinate your breath with movement.

If you are new to yoga, listen to your body and be mindful of your knees and hips joint in Goddess, Warrior, and side lunges as you flow. Enjoy!

Begin in a wide Five Pointed Star
Sun Breaths (inhale arms up and exhale arms down)
Descend to Goddess
Add some Twists (maintain long spine as you twist)
Add some Lateral Stretches
Add some Twists again (maintain long spine as you twist)
Pivot your feet to Warrior II
Add Dancing warrior
Add Lateral stretch with a bind
Transition back to Goddess
Move back and forth from Five Pointed Star to Goddess with some Sun Breaths
Pivot your feet to Warrior II on the other side
Add Dancing Warrior
Add Lateral Stretch with a bind
Back to Goddess offering
*Lotus Mudra to sky
Side Lunges a few rounds with Lotus Mudra
Back to Five Pointed Star
Sun Breaths (inhale arms up and exhale arms down)
Pivot feet to parallel, Wide Leg Forward Fold
Add your own variations or modifications in this forward fold.
Side Lunges
Add Twist (maintain long spine as you twist)
Move back and forth from Five Pointed Star and Goddess
End with hands by heart in Prayer position.

* Lotus Mudra is made with heels of palms, thumbs and little fingers touching. The rest of the fingers open. Use this mudra as a symbol to connect to your heart.
