Six Movements of the Spine

A short routine to move the spine in six different directions coupled with some Hara Breath (breathe in through nose and exhale through mouth in the sound of “ha”) helps to wake up the body, clear the mind and increase prana flow.

Join me with Empty Coat Sleeves (for twist), Monkey Breath (for lateral stretch), and lastly the Breath of Joy (for slight back bend and forward fold).

For Breath of Joy, I usually take three inhales before I exhale with a forward fold. First inhale, arms to the front at shoulder height. Second inhale, arms to T-position. Third inhale, arms overhead, back slightly arched.
